Bus workers in the Unite union at Abellio Surrey are set to strike tomorrow, Monday 13 August, against a planned pay freeze for this year.
Talks between the union and the company at the Acas conciliation service have broken down.
The workers, who operate out of Abellio’s Byfleet garage, fear that the company will try and run a scab operation on the day of the strike.
Abellio wants to take buses out of Byfleet on Sunday and use agency workers to run a scab service from its Twickenham garage.
The strike comes in the wake of industrial action by Unite bus workers in London to secure an Olympic bonus.
