CWU union members in Royal Mail are voting on a deal with bosses.
The vote is taking place amid news that Royal Mail boss Moya Greene is set to pocket a £1.4 million bonus.
Greene gets paid nearly £500,000 a year and grabs £200,000 in pension contributions. Post workers in Royal Mail are paid around £19,000 a year.
The deal means workers’ pay will go up by 9 percent over three years. Many will welcome that.
But it doesn’t address long term issues over deliveries or management bullying and harassment. And it includes an effective no-strike agreement.
Accepting the deal will only make matters worse and members should reject it.
The ballot ends on Wednesday of next week.
