Over 50 people attended the annual general meeting of the Anti Academies Alliance last Saturday, representing 33 campaigns and union branches.
This included national delegates from the TUC, NUT, NASUWT, ATL and Unison unions, as well as councillors and a GMB union branch representative. Activists from the Bolton, Derby, Newham and Croydon strikes against academies attended.
The victory against the academy proposal in Derby gave a boost to the meeting. A national steering committee was elected.
