The racist Scottish Defence League (SDL) said it would return to the multicultural Pollokshields neighbourhood in Glasgow on Saturday of last week.
It had been humiliated by anti-racists there in January, despite a huge police operation.
This time Strathclyde police banned all demonstrations in Pollokshields for the day.
But local residents and Unite Against Fascism (UAF) opposed the ban and told the police they would demonstrate anyway. Over 100 local anti-racists assembled.
Some 30 activists met in Wisbech, Cambridgeshire, last week to organise against an anti-immigrant march set up by Ukip supporters.
The meeting was called by Wisbech TUC.
Around 40 supporters of the fascist British National Party tried to protest at Rotherham’s oldest mosque on Saturday of last week.
They were outnumbered two to one by UAF.
