Supporters of Unite Against Fascism travelled to the site of the Nazi death camp at Auschwitz in Poland last weekend on the organisation’s second annual educational trip.
Amal Azzudin of the Glasgow Girls was one of those who went.
She said, “Reading and hearing stories about Auschwitz was always shocking but visiting the actual concentration camp is a whole different experience.
It is something that I will never forget.”
Another of the group, Roza Salih, said, “It was the horror of the camp that made me cry and ask ‘How can anyone be capable of such atrocities?’
“I will share this experience about what fascism and racism have done to make sure that such acts shall not be repeated ever again.”
There was a sense of solidarity and hope
