Support for the We Are Bradford event has been growing in the city and nationally.
A statement backing the mobilisation has attracted a wide range of signatories.
Three national trade unions have signed it—the CWU post and telecoms union, the PCS civil service union and the TSSA rail union.
Salma Yaqoob, Birmingham councillor and Respect Party leader, has backed the event.
Andy Dark, assistant general secretary of the firefighters’ FBU union, has signed up, as have MPs Peter Hain, Jeremy Corbyn and Bradford East’s MP David Ward.
So have comedian and activist Mark Thomas, poet Benjamin Zephaniah and civil rights lawyers Michael Mansfield and Louise Christian.
Veteran antifascist campaigner Morris Beckman, a founder of the 43 Group, which opposed Mosley’s fascists after the Second World War, has also added his name to the statement.
