Barnet council workers rallied outside the London borough’s town hall after their strike against privatisation on Tuesday of last week.
Bosses locked out workers by making them sign registers and sending home those who were set to strike for a half-day that afternoon.
But the bosses’ plan backfired as strikers spent the day leafleting instead.
“I only joined Unison yesterday—after they brought round the registers,” striker Delia told Socialist Worker.
“I didn’t like what they were saying to us.”
