Staff at Brighton Housing Trust (BHT), a homeless people’s charity employing more than 200 workers across Sussex, walked out on a one-day strike on Wednesday of last week.

They held a picket and marched to the town hall.

Management wants to push through pay cuts that will reduce already low wages by as much as £6,000 a year. Staff who refuse to accept the new arrangements have been threatened with the sack.

Unison union members are demanding BHT comes to the negotiating table and withdraws the dismissal threats. Some

40 staff and supporters picketed the headquarters in Brighton then marched to the town hall.
