SOCIALIST WORKER sellers were out last week building the protests against Haider in Austria. On Saturday 157 copies of Socialist Worker were sold in Manchester’s Market Street, 136 in Birmingham High Street, 117 in Liverpool’s Bold Street, 110 in Newcastle city centre, 103 in Nottingham, 55 in Kilburn, 54 in Chesterfield, 45 in Sunderland, 35 in York and 30 in Eccles, while a new sale on Friday lunchtime in Dumbarton kicked off with 24 copies sold.

Workplace sales included 14 at Glasgow Royal Infirmary, 14 at BT Central Exchange Bristol, 11 at Glacier Metals in Glasgow, 9 at De La Rue Printers in High Wycombe and 6 at King’s College Hospital in south London. In the last week 13 people have joined the Socialist Workers Party in Telford; 8 at the North London People and Protest forum, 4 in Manchester Central and Moss Side; 2 in York, Sheffield, Camberwell, Cardiff, Nottingham and on the fees demonstration in Oxford; 1 in Norwich, Rochdale, Birmingham University, Warwick University, Erdington, Solihull, Clydebank College, Imperial College, Wakefield, Stratford and Neath.
