Cameroonian journalist Charles Atangana has won his campaign to remain in Britain.
The high court announced the success of his appeal against deportation on 8 April.
Charles calls it a “provisional victory”, as the Home Office could still launch a counter appeal until Wednesday of this week.
Charles told Socialist Worker, “The Glasgow branch of the National Union of Journalists started the fight.
“It’s always worth fighting. The people who have been supporting me made me realise that as long as people are prepared to fight there is always hope.
“I’d like to thank all the people I’ve got to know through the campaign and also all those who have supported me but I didn’t get to meet. Thank you.”
