The first strike in the Church of England’s history took place on Friday of last week.

PCS union members who manage church administration struck for half a day, demanding a wage increase of 3 percent.

Management has claimed that it doesn’t have the money for any pay rise.

Workers have faced pay rises of below the national average for the last nine years.

Workers have also seen their closed pension scheme changed for the second time with worse benefits in the future.

Management had not even offered to meet with the union following the ballot announcement.
