Cleaners working in the medical school at St George’s Hospital in Tooting, south London, have won the London Living Wage.
The victory came just before a protest last Friday.
On the morning of the demonstration, the university emailed all its staff to say that the cleaners would be paid the London Living Wage from this August, with Ocean also withdrawing the threatened redundancies.
