Next month the caravan for a million climate jobs will undertake its 2,000 mile tour of 25 towns and cities.

The caravan, organised by the Campaign Against Climate Change trade union group, was inspired by the “Caravan of Hope” which joined the protests at the UN summit for climate change in Durban, South Africa, last December.

It will raise public discussion of how jobs lost can be replaced through the creation of new jobs which help ensure an environmentally sustainable future—rather than simply the profits of the very rich.

It will be greeted by meetings and other public events in dozens of places where jobs are being lost.

Trade unionists can come together with environmental campaigners and community organisations in each area to discuss what climate jobs could be created there and how to make it happen.

In Blackpool and Brighton activists will take on the argument that fracking is the solution to unemployment.

You can help this initiative, through winning support in your union branch or campaign organisation and building the welcome for the caravan in your area.
