Unions at City and Islington College, north London, have called a rally to defend education to coincide with the visit of education secretary Ruth Kelly on Tuesday 24 January.
They are inviting all teachers, lecturers, students and parents who can make it to join them at 8.15am outside the Camden Road site.
Kelly’s visit is one of several events she is attending over the next two months to push the government’s education plans, which are facing mounting opposition from teacher unions and parents.
