Cops drug bust
THREE POLICE officers were jailed last week after a case which exposed how their elite team was at the centre of Britain’s drugs business. The three were members of the regional crime squad in London which was supposed to crack down on drugs.
Instead the trio, and two more police officers who have already been jailed, became some of the biggest drugs dealers around, styling themselves the “Groovy Gang”.
The cops did a deal with a drugs baron who fed them tip-offs on when drugs shipments arrived in Britain. They seized the drugs but then stole part of the haul. Their cut was then sold by their drugs baron, who shared the proceeds with these cops.
