Over 100 people joined a protest in Sheffield on Friday of last week to show support for the Thulambo family – Privilege and her two daughters, Valerie and Lorraine – who are threatened with deportation.
The family has lived in Sheffield since 2004, after fleeing from Zimbabwe following the murder of Privilege’s husband, mother and brother. They are now held in Yarl’s Wood detention centre and face removal to Malawi.
Friends of the family said the Home Office would be guilty of ‘murder by the back door’ if it deports them. Because of their nationality, the Thulambo family are likely to end up back in Zimbabwe where they could face torture or death.
1,000 told both candidates they weren't welcome
