Employees at plastic film factory DuPont Teijin Films in Dumfries, south west Scotland, have voted for industrial action.

The 201 workers, members of the Unite union, voted by 80 percent to take action such as a work-to-rule or overtime ban.

The workers have not had a pay rise for two years and are not happy with a below-inflation offer of 2.5 percent this year.

DuPoint is the largest maker of PET polyester film in the world, and Dumfries is its biggest site in Europe. The film’s uses include wrapping, food packaging and insulation.
