A planned strike by 130 East Midlands Trains senior conductors in the RMT union set for last weekend was suspended pending the outcome of talks.
The strike was called off after management reinstated two RMT reps who had been suspended from duty due to issues coming out of the dispute – which is over a breakdown in industrial relations.
The company wants to use managers to guard trains on Sundays and to impose a new grade with inferior conditions, outside negotiating structures.
Workers have already struck twice over the issues.
