Around 50 students have occupied the human resources building in Edinburgh university in solidarity with striking lecturers.
Lecturers in the UCU union at eight Scottish universities are striking today in protest at attacks on their pensions.
Students led a march from a rally of around 200 at lunchtime, organised by the UCU.
The students are demanding that the college management listens to the lecturers. They are also making the point that any attack on lecturers is an attack on education – and consequently on students.
Students chose to target the human resources building because that is where pensions are dealt with at the university. They have demanded a meeting with the person responsible for pensions.
Justice for contaminated blood survivors now
There was a sense of solidarity and hope
