Care workers at homes run by Enable Scotland are taking part in a consultative ballot for strikes after some have been threatened with a 15 percent cut in pay.
The Unison union members are on two separate pay grades. There are 23 workers on the higher rate, who will now see their pay cut from £8.47 per hour to £6.87. The change is set to take place on 1 August.
Enable provides care to adults with learning difficulties and is funded by North Lanarkshire council.
Now Enable and the council are trying to blame each other for the cuts, leaving workers and the people they care for in the dark. Enable Scotland is set to meet workers on the higher rate this week.
