Security guards working for Chubb at Eurostar depots at North Pole (west London), Waterloo and Ashford International have voted unanimously for action to win union recognition.
The 100 percent ballot result for strike action showed the depth of anger over the lack of basic rights. More and more staff are joining the RMT union to be part of the fight to win union representation.
The RMT has informed Chubb of the result and the union’s national executive is considering dates for strike action.
The union has also called a strike ballot at Momentum Services, a contractor to Eurostar, after the company also refused to recognise the RMT. That ballot was to close on Thursday of this week.
