Firefighters in Essex were set to strike and hold a mass march through Chelmsford on Wednesday of this week.
The FBU firefighters’ union members have already struck twice, once for an hour and once for eight hours. Now they are set to walk out for 24 hours.
It is the latest phase of a long-running battle against cuts that has seen Essex firefighters take action short of a strike for three years.
If the planned cuts go ahead then Essex fire service will have lost one in five firefighter jobs since 2008.
More strikes are set for 18 August and 18 October.
