Thomas Cook cabin crew in the Unite union have voted overwhelmingly for action in a consultative ballot last week.

Talks were due to take place on Wednesday of this week, after workers rejected the redundancy terms attached to an avalanche of job cuts. The company wants to axe 498 of its 1,800 cabin crew.

The cabin crews fly from Belfast, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, East Midlands, Gatwick, Glasgow, Manchester, Newcastle, and Stansted airports.

The cabin crew and pilots from Thomas Cook Belgium have told management that they will not operate flights for Thomas Cook UK, if industrial action takes place.
