Unite union members at the Fujitsu IT company in Crewe are to ballot for strikes in defence of local activist Alan Jenney.
The union believes that Alan has been singled out and put at risk of redundancy.
Unite says the firm has seriously breached company processes and agreements.
Unite national officer Kevin O’Gallagher said, “Members will not tolerate the victimisation of union reps, and they have the full backing of Unite.”
The union has warned that workers at Fujitsu in Crewe could join strikes on 30 June.
