The Unite union has called off the three days of action at the Fujitsu Services IT company set to begin tomorrow after it came to an agreement with management to extend consultations over pensions and redundancies.
Consultation with the pensions forum has been extended until 31 January, and that no worker selected for compulsory redundancy will have their contract terminated before that date.
Unite and Fujitsu will have further talks with the aim of agreeing a resolution by Christmas or agreeing a way to continue dialogue. The company has also agreed to extend the timescale in which Unite can call industrial action after its successful ballot.
