NORWICH CITY College lecturers took their second day of strike action on Friday of last week. The members of the NATFHE union are opposing management restructuring plans, which will mean 50 redundancies, the creation of low paid teaching posts, and course cuts.
Over 140 lecturers were on the picket line throughout the day, with some students coming along to show solidarity. Lecturer Steve Hutchens said, “It’s ironic that, with a Labour government, we’re still forced to strike against cuts.” Further days of action are to be agreed by the union branch.
