Another Gaza protester was found not guilty yesterday at Isleworth Crown Court. Sulaph Ridha was 17 when she went on the demonstration on 17 January last year against Israel’s attack on Gaza.

Sulaph was one of 119 people arrested in relation to the demonstrations held in December 2008 and January 2009.

Aged 18 now, Sulaph stood trial for 2 and a half days after police arrested her for violent disorder. Her “criminal actions” were entering a Starbucks cafe for 6 seconds, looking for friends that she had lost during the protest.

Within an hour the jury were back in court to deliver a verdict of not guilty.

All three trials that have taken place so far have delivered not guilty verdicts. The trials of other protesters continue at Isleworth crown court.
