A driver at Harwich Express who was temporarily unfit to drive has returned to work on full pay following action by his workmates.
A gate meeting, called by workers on Monday of last week, met with unqualified success.
Many thanks to all those union reps and officials who sent messages of support, which were greeted with applause by the drivers.
One skirmish does not win the war, but at least we have established the principle of solidarity — an injury to one is an injury to all.
The next step is to win union recognition.
We intend to spread our message — that by standing together we can win — across haulage firms in Harwich.
We will also be proudly represented at the RMT conference this Saturday.
