Students at the University of Hull went into occupation this morning.
They are occupying a large room on the upper floor of staff house, which is often used for commercial events and conferences. They are close to the Vice Chancellor’s office.
Workers at the university are already organising support and have a petition to show solidarity with the students.
One worker told Socialist Worker, “I work with disabled students and I’m worried because the cuts will hit vulnerable people the hardest.
“Students with disabilities in general won’t go on to earn as much as other graduates but there are no concessions for them in terms of fees.
“It’s important for workers to show support for students.”
