Hundreds rally in defence of unions

Up to 400 people attended a rally to defend union rights organised by the People’s Assembly on Tuesday of last week in London. 

Unite union assistant general secretary Steve Turner said the Tories were attacking the trade unions because “we terrify them”.

Alex Kenny from the teachers’ NUT union called for support for teachers who will be on strike on 26 March.

A Women’s People’s Assembly is set to place on Saturday of this week in central London.
