Tom Woodcock is standing as an independent left wing candidate for the Romsey seat in Cambridge in the council elections on 4 June.

“We’ve been mainly campaigning on the big political issues – like the MPs expenses scandal and the money for the bankers – and it’s going well,” Tom told Socialist Worker.

“There are a lot of people who are very angry.

“In some ways it may be hard to get people out to vote as they are so fed up with it all following the expenses scandal.

“But when we talk to people on the doorstep we can often win them around.”

Tom has been a key figure in a number of campaigns in the local area.
