The Media Workers Against the War group has organised an important half-day conference titled Under Siege: Islam, War And The Media in central London this Saturday.
The conference will examine what media workers and students can do to improve coverage of the “war on
terror”, to bring critical views into the mainstream, raise the profile of the anti-war movement and create their own sources of critical news and comment.
Speakers include journalists Peter Oborne and Nick Davies, Inayat Bunglawala of Engage, Stop the War’s Lindsey German, campaigning lawyer Louise Christian, Jeremy Dear of the NUJ journalists’ union and former Guantanamo Bay inmate Moazzam Begg.
The conference takes place at the London School of Economics, Aldwych WC2A (nearest tube Holborn), Saturday 15 November from 2pm-6.30pm.
