ITN
ITN NEWS could be blacked out next week after journalists and technicians voted 80 percent for strikes. The vote by members of the NUJ and BECTU unions was over proposals which will disrupt workers’ lives. ITN management want to impose night working for all employees as part of their drive to more “flexibility” in order to turn the station into a 24 hour news channel. Unless management retreated in talks this week a 24 hour strike is scheduled from midnight on next Wednesday, 26 January.
