Campaigners for Jerry Hicks, the rank and file candidate for Unite union general secretary, are out raising his profile in the run-up to the election.
Jerry is standing against three full-timers—right winger Les Bayliss, another left wing candidate Len McCluskey and Gail Cartmail.
Jerry was taking his message to Unite members in Ireland this week. His message of resistance to the Tory cuts is winning wide support.
The election statements from the candidates go out on 11 October. The election will run from 25 October until 19 November.
