Birmingham Benefit Justice Campaign has called a demonstration against the bedroom tax in Birmingham on Saturday of this week.

The protest is in memory of Stephanie Bottrill, who killed herself after being hit with the hated bedroom tax.

In a letter to her son she said “Don’t blame yourself for me ending my life.

“The only people to blame are the government.”

Just before her death she told neighbours, “I can’t afford to live any more.”

Richard Burden MP is set to speak at the protest along with Robert Punton from Disabled People Against Cuts.

Eileen Short from the Benefit Justice Campaign, councillor Dave Nellist and Steve Parker from the Green Party will also address the protest.

Assemble at 12 noon, Chamberlain Square, B3 3DH
