Join Refugee Week activity

THIS SATURDAY sees the start of Refugee Week. It is an excellent series of events right across Britain celebrating the contribution which people seeking asylum have made here. The week includes mainstream events in London’s Royal Festival Hall, street parties in Dover and Hull, a conference in Cardiff, five marquees in the centre of Birmingham, a club night in Edinburgh and hundreds of other events.

The Refugee Council is also launching a postcard campaign to oppose the government’s plans to undermine the 1951 UN convention on refugees.
