A council boss who pushed through a pay review that left thousands of workers worse off has resigned.
A “single status” equal pay review at Lancashire county council led to a fall in basic pay for around 4,000 out of the 31,000 staff.
Carol Mills’ three-year stint as director of human resources also coincided with the council’s planned “Project Lancashire”, which aimed to tear up nationally agreed terms and conditions.
The Unison union is set to ballot its 11,000 members at the council for action short of strikes over the pay review.
