Lecturers at Leeds University are set to strike on Thursday 18 March. They will be striking on the same day as lecturers at Sussex University.
Both groups are fighting against job cuts. Management at Leeds want to slash the budget by 10 percent and impose compulsory redundancies.
Workers called off planned strikes last month after management made some significant concessions. The lecturers’ UCU union began talks with management to finalise details of a deal.
But workers now say that bosses are backsliding on the agreement. Around 150 lecturers met today and voted overwhelmingly to strike.
