Former Respect and Labour MP George Galloway has announced that he will stand on the Glasgow regional list in May’s election to the Scottish parliament.
Gail Sheridan, the wife of victimised former MSP Tommy Sheridan, is also considering standing in the election for the Solidarity socialist party.
There has been talk about Gail Sheridan standing as the number two on Galloway’s list.
But Galloway disagreed over independence, and said, “They are the far left, and I’m not.”
This means there is a danger of four left candidates on the Glasgow list, with the Scottish Socialist Party and the Socialist Labour Party also standing.
Socialist Worker believes the left should negotiate a united list in Glasgow, and other parts of Scotland.
