Workers at the Linamar (formerly Visteon) plant in Swansea have voted overwhelmingly to strike in support of their sacked Unite union convenor, Rob Williams.
Staff voted by 88 percent to strike on a turnout of more than 90 percent.
The result reflects the huge anger that workers feel at Rob’s sacking.
Unfortunately, so far, no strike date has been called.
Linamar workers organised solidarity with the Visteon workers during their successful fight. It is vital that Linamar workers are not left to fight alone.
Unite should make sure that a strike date is named as soon as possible and mobilise the national union around the campaign to reinstate Rob Williams by calling a national protest.
