Baggage handlers at Liverpool’s John Lennon airport will stop striking at the end of this month, their union has announced.
The GMB union has accepted that more strikes outside the 12 week period after the workers’ ballot will not be allowed.
The workers at Runcorn based Servisair have been walking out regularly for six weeks against up to 35 forced redundancies.
They are striking for two hours in the morning and afternoon, four days a week.
GMB regional organiser Eddie Parker said the strikes are “more solid now than before”. He added, “I attended eight picket lines and the strength was evident.”
Conciliation service Acas said there had been “contact” between Servisair and the union, but no new talks.
