A lone piper led a march through Llanelli to commemorate the 1911 rail strike and uprising, when the military shot two workers dead.

Around 100 people joined the annual march which was themed on “resistance”.

Ray Davis, the ex-miner who appears in Ken Loach’s Spirit of ’45 addressed the crowd.

Others on the platform included Labour, Plaid Cymru, Wales TUC, Anti-Bedroom Tax and singing from Cor Cochion Caerdydd, the Cardiff red choir.
