The appeal against the inquest jury’s conclusion into Mark Duggan’s death will take place in July.
Mark’s mother Pamela has been granted permission to apply for a judicial review into the ruling that her son was lawfully killed on two counts.
Mark Duggan’s aunt Carole spoke at a fringe meeting at the UCU union’s conference, organised by the UCU Left last week
She said, “When injustice hits you in the face you have no choice but to fight,” she said. “We’re all fighting for a common cause – a better future for our children.
Carole said the inquest conclusion into Mark’s death of lawful killing was “obscene”. “We are having a judicial review on 9 and 10 July,” she said. “Let’s hope we get this verdict overturned.
“If not, the fight goes on. No justice, no peace.”
