Hundreds of Syrians and other supporters attended a memorial meeting last week in Manchester for Abbas Khan.
Abbas died in detention in Syria. He was a doctor who went to offer medical help to victims of the war.
He was detained for 13 months by the Assad regime.
His brother said, “We were born in Britain. We all serve as doctors, working in the NHS all our lives.
“But when we asked for help for our brother we received none. Abbas was killed for being British—but not considered British enough.”
