The government has lashed out at pretty much everyone in its attempt to drive through an assault on workers in Britain. Sometimes it says that “greedy” public sector workers are the reason that cuts must be made. At other times the Tories lay into people who can’t find work or those on benefits.

Their default position is to round on immigrants. But it isn’t migrant workers or those on benefits that are responsible for cutting jobs, driving down pay and attacking pensions. It’s the bosses and the rich.

All workers—wherever they are from—have the same interests in fighting against the parasites at the top of society. And we’ll be stronger if we stick together.

Governments always try to find scapegoats for unemployment, lack of services and poverty. They are desperate to divert blame from themselves and the system they support. And they are terrified of the prospect that workers could unite against them.
