This Association / school NUT group notes the 73 percent vote for further national strike action on pensions in the NUT survey. This follows our overwhelming and still valid ballot for strikes to defend our pensions last year.
We pledge to ensure the planned London regional strike on Wednesday 28 March is as solid and vibrant as possible with full support for the central London demonstration planned by the NUT.
We condemn the decision by the majority of the national executive to vote against calling national strike action.
We believe that strikes on 28 March should have been national, and we call on delegates at the NUT annual conference at Easter to instruct the executive to call further national strike action alongside as many other unions as possible, early in the new term.
We ask our General Secretary Christine Blower to circulate this motion to all members of the NEC and to delegates to the NUT conference at Torquay.
