Gordon Brown has decided that the NHS’s 60th birthday should be celebrated with an expansion of the very policies that have undermined it.
Brown said, “We will use all mechanisms available to us to improve our NHS – public, private and voluntary providers can all play their part and there will be no no-go areas for reform.”
Those “reforms” have seen the use of the free market to force the NHS to compete with heavily subsidised private firms to treat patients. This means NHS resources are now lining the pockets of shareholders in multinational medical firms.
