The executive council of the firefighters’ FBU union was set to meet this week, to discuss any further developments in talks with Tory fire minister Penny Mordaunt.
Mordaunt told the union in a letter that she would conclude consideration on a number of issues on Monday of next week.
The union asked to meet with Mordaunt to clarify what those issues were.
FBU general secretary Matt Wrack said her “position would be unsatisfactory if it were to continue”.
Union negotiators met with the fire minister on Tuesday of last week.
Mordaunt demanded they set out the union’s “bottom line”, which they refused.
