NESTLE WORKERS at Staverton, Wiltshire, are fighting to try to keep their jobs as Nestle continues its campaign of shutting factories and moving the work abroad.
The workers at Staverton have already been through major changes in working practices and have had numerous redundancies. They have done as the company asked by making the factory very flexible, efficient and profitable. Closure is their reward.
Nestle have entered into 90 days consultation with the TGWU union. But the company has been very slow in both providing figures and hesitant in allowing TGWU reps to meet with senior management. However the campaign to keep the site open is far from over.
