Workers at NHS Logistics, the not for profit agency that supplies hospitals across the country, are set to ballot for strike action in their fight against privatisation.
Ballot papers will go out to members of the Unison union on 21 August and the ballot is set to end on 11 September.
This is a crucial battle. The 1,400 workers employed at five distribution centres could shut down the NHS in just three days.
They have the potential to strike one of the greatest ever blows against a government privatisation scheme.
